Let’s Connect: Physical Disability - via MS Teams Online
This is an experiential, reflective group for students with physical disabilities. Students will be invited to offer peer support, share advice and experiences, and consider how to manage their wellbeing at university. There will be some reflective activities to support discussion.
A physical disability is a “limitation on a person’s physical functioning, mobility, dexterity, or stamina.” It has a ‘substantial’ and ‘long-term’ negative effect on a person’s ability to do daily activities. (Equality Act, 2010).
This workshop has limited spaces to aid the workings of a confidential space. 10 spaces will be available as a closed group and once the spaces have been filled, the group attendees will remain the same throughout the trimester. The second group will be on Thursday 28th November, 1.00-2.00pm. Invitations will be sent to attendees for this meeting.
Please be assured that no-one will be required to share their personal experiences and you can attend in whatever way makes you feel comfortable, but you will be encouraged to keep your camera on due to the nature of the group.
You will need to be in a confidential space and have a pen and paper handy.
